Celebrating Career Growth and Achievement
REDW Advisors and CPAs, one of the Southwest’s 10 largest advisory and CPA firms and recognized by Accounting Today as a 2023 Firm to Watch, is pleased to announce the mid-year promotions of 11 outstanding team members, effective July 1, 2023. These up-and-coming professionals from each of REDW’s three offices represent a variety of both client-facing and core business service lines: Audit & Assurance; Advisory & Accounting; Operations Support; and People Operations.
“This is truly a year of celebration for REDW as we mark our 70th year in business,” notes Katherine Bastow, Director of People Operations for the firm. “It’s no surprise that REDW continues to earn accolades in the Accounting profession and as a Top Workplace. Our team members are at the core of our legacy and our continuing success.” The firm’s latest rising stars are listed below by service line and position, in alphabetical order.
Audit & Assurance
Steven K. Purwin, CPA to Audit Senior Manager in REDW’s Albuquerque office. Steven manages some of the firm’s largest and most technical commercial audit engagements, which span a variety of industries, including manufacturing, construction, technology, and nonprofit organizations. He also serves as Vice President on the board of the Domestic Violence Resource Center.
Graciela Rocha, CPA to Senior Audit Associate II in REDW’s Albuquerque office. Since joining the firm in early 2020, Graciela has worked primarily on audit teams serving commercial and tribal government clients and has also assisted with single audits and employee benefit plans. She holds both a Bachelor of Business Administration and Master of Accounting, summa cum laude, from UNM’s Anderson School of Business.
Andrew Killen to Senior Audit Associate I in REDW’s Phoenix office. Andrew joined REDW in August 2020, bringing valuable experience as an accounting administrative assistant. He holds a Bachelor of Science from Northern Arizona University, as well as associate degrees in both Accounting and Business Administration.
Zak Molina to Senior Audit Associate I in REDW’s Albuquerque office. Since joining REDW in 2019 with prior experience in the financial services and software industries, Zak has assisted with single audits, and internal control and substantive testing, primarily for tribal clients. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of New Mexico.
Christine Beck to Audit Associate II in REDW’s Phoenix office. Christine joined REDW in 2022 bringing prior tax preparation, bookkeeping and payroll experience, and has successfully transitioned to audit and assurance engagements for the firm. She holds a Bachelor of Accounting from Arizona State University and is currently pursuing both her master’s degree and CPA license.
Shea Roccaforte to Audit Associate II in REDW’s Albuquerque office. After serving a successful season as an Audit intern in 2022, Shea joined REDW full-time and has continued to quickly rise through the ranks in the field of Audit & Assurance. She holds both a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from Bard College in New York and a Master of Accounting from the University of New Mexico’s Anderson School of Management.
Eric Saavedra to Audit Associate II in REDW’s Albuquerque office. Eric joined REDW in 2022 with non-profit industry experience focused primarily on procurement and cash management. Also skilled at developing and implementing process improvements, Eric has proven an invaluable addition to the Audit & Assurance team. He holds both a BBA and Master of Accounting from the University of New Mexico.
Advisory & Accounting
Stephanie Scott, CPA to Manager in REDW’s Phoenix office. Stephanie joined the Client Advisory & Accounting team in 2021, bringing a decade of prior accounting experience, from general ledger and payroll to data analytics. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy, cum laude, from Arizona State University.
Jill Young to Accounting Specialist Supervisor in REDW’s Oklahoma office. Jill joined REDW’s Client Advisory & Accounting team in early 2021, bringing valuable public accounting experience focused on tax, as well as banking experience as a credit analyst. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Wichita State University.
Operations Support
Krystal Rivera to Operations Support Administrator I in REDW’s Phoenix office. Since joining REDW in mid-2022 with more than a decade of experience in customer service, Krystal continues to expand her role in delivering an exceptional client experience, both internally and to external clients of the firm.
People Operations
Lucy Rodriguez, SHRM-CP to Recruiting Specialist in REDW’s Albuquerque office. Lucy originally joined REDW’s Human Resources Consulting department, bringing wide-ranging HR experience and expertise to bear as a client consultant. She has since transitioned to REDW’s core People Operations team to bolster the firm’s own recruiting efforts. Lucy is a Society of Human Resources Management Certified Professional in addition to holding a Bachelor of Human Resources Management from the University of Phoenix.
