REDW LLC is pleased to announce that Carl Alongi is a recipient of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants’ (AICPA) 2015 Sustained Contribution Award. The award recognizes members of the Institute who have shown long-lasting dedication and commitment to the accounting profession and AICPA through their volunteer service.

Recipients of the award are required to have served on an Institute volunteer group for 20 or more years and to have served at least once as a chair of an AICPA committee, task force or resource panel. In 2015, only 41 CPAs in the nation received the AICPA’s Sustained Contribution Award at the annual fall Council meeting.

“Congratulations to Carl for being named a recipient of the Sustained Contribution Award,†said Ed Street, REDW Principal and Head of the Business Valuation, Forensic and Litigation Services department. “In his volunteer leadership role, he has strengthened the accounting profession by providing an excellent example for aspiring CPAs to follow.â€

Since joining REDW in 2009, Carl has served as a Senior Consultant in the Business Valuation, Forensic and Litigation Services department. Previously, Carl spent 40 years as a Co-Founder and Managing Shareholder of another Albuquerque-based CPA firm. Carl originally practiced in the business planning and management consulting services area. Since 1982, he has served the AICPA in various capacities beginning with the Small Business Consulting Services Committee. That role ultimately led to his becoming a member of the Management Consulting Services Executive Committee. Carl’s professional involvement expanded beyond business planning and consulting with his appointment as the first Chair of the Business Valuation Committee where he guided the development of the Accredited in Business Valuation Credential of the AICPA.

The event, organized and hosted by REDW, is designed exclusively for professionals in tribal organizations involved in staff orientation, training and development.

Open to REDW clients and non-clients alike, the Tribal Train-the-Trainer (T4) forum promises to be an engaging and educational two-day session devoted to human resource and organizational development topics unique to tribes. Tal Moore, one of the most sought-after HR trainers in Indian Country, will facilitate the forum. Prior to joining REDW as a Principal in late 2015, Moore served six terms as President of the National Native American Human Resource Association (NNAHRA); in his 25-year career, he has trained thousands of professionals in tribal, academic, nonprofit and corporate settings.
