Meet Steve

In serving as REDW’s Managing Principal since 2016, Steve has always been an enthusiastic team, client, and community champion. He has also been recognized as one of the Southwest’s top technical experts on internal audit, fraud prevention and investigation, and risk management.

Steve merges his strong technical expertise and dedication to client service with the leadership skills required to help the firm meet the growing demand for highly specialized accounting and financial services. By guiding an extraordinary financial services team through the integration of technology, business acumen, and forward-thinking strategy, and with a focus on humility, respect, and kindness, Steve is helping team members engage in new and exciting ways to share ideas and gain client insight. He views REDW – the firm he and so many others helped to shape and expand – as something unique in the markets it serves: an unusually diverse blend of professionals and service lines able to meaningfully assist clients across a broad spectrum of complex financial and business advisory needs.

As REDW increases in size and geographic reach, Steve is poised to build on the firm’s already strong reputation for integrity and technical expertise by also ensuring that the compassionate side of the business flourishes. Steve has been an integral part of some of the largest community-oriented projects REDW has tackled for clients in recent years, including helping Native American Tribes transition from Indian Health Services to run their own healthcare facilities.

A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in New Mexico and Arizona, Steve represents REDW in the Major Firms Group of the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) and as an independent member of the PrimeGlobal association of advisory and accounting firms. Reflecting his passion for the profession and entrepreneurship, he was also instrumental in forming the GR8 Affinity, a collaboration of eight peer advisory and CPA firms committed to helping each other succeed in a rapidly changing business climate. What’s more, Steve is a founding board member and serves on the operating committees of GR8 Global and Spiirall, both of which are dedicated to building strong teams and providing outstanding career opportunities, as well as extraordinary client experiences. He is also a member of and actively involved with New Mexico Angels, the state’s premier organization of angel investors who support start-up and high-growth companies.

"Helping our clients and team members succeed is the most gratifying aspect of leadership. It's fun to watch them grow and develop over the years and be an active participant in their journey."
