Meet Hattie

Backed by many years of experience in the accounting field serving tribal governments and gaming enterprises, Hattie has played a leading role in REDW’s National Tribal Practice since joining the firm in 2021. She specializes in providing Tribal Nations with strategic planning and outsourced CFO services. She is also committed to promoting financial literacy across Indian Country, frequently serving as an instructor for the Tribal Finance and Accounting Program at Oklahoma State University (OSU) and for the Tribal Financial Management Certificate program at Arizona State University.

Hattie is a member of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation.

Professional Qualifications and Memberships

In 2024 Hattie was appointed to the Governmental Accounting Standards Advisory Council (GASAC) for a second two-year term after serving as Treasurer for the Native American Financial Officers Association (NAFOA) Board for six years. She also serves on the Oklahoma State University (OSU) Tribal Finance and Accounting Advisory Board. As the former Treasurer for the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation (PBPN) Casino Board, she oversaw the overall direction and strategic plan for the Casino and related enterprises, and she has also served as the PBPN’s elected Tribal Treasurer.

In addition to being a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensed to practice in the State of Kansas, Hattie is a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and a Certified Value Growth Advisor (CVGA).

 

Awards & Recognition

In 2014 Hattie was named one of the Jayhawk Area Council – Topeka’s “Top 20 Under 40” and received the 2013 Native American “40 Under 40” award from the National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development (NCAIED).
