What’s New in Sage Intacct 2026 Release 3: AI Copilots, Fraud Defense, and Loan Management

September 24, 2026

Sage Intacct 2026 Release 3 gives finance teams new AI tools, stronger fraud controls, and a lending management module that is now generally available. In a September 2026 webinar, REDW Technology Solutions Manager David Hall and Technology Solutions Senior Consultant Andrey Lem walked through the release feature by feature, with live demonstrations in Sage Intacct. Hall has worked in Sage Intacct for 15 years, and REDW’s Technology Solutions team implements, supports, and trains organizations on the platform.

Key takeaways

  • Sage Intacct AP Automation can now flag unusual bills, including vendor email addresses that don’t match the vendor record and unexpected transaction amounts.
  • New security controls tighten who can submit documents, change email addresses, and send communications from your Sage Intacct system.
  • Lending management is now generally available for organizations that manage loans.
  • Several free, practical upgrades can be turned on today, and several early adopter programs are open for a limited time.

What AI Features Did Sage Intacct Add in Release 3?

Sage Intacct is adding AI carefully, with accuracy as the priority. If AI is going to help produce financial information, that information has to be right. Release 3 brings AI into accounts payable, reporting, and cash management.

Anomaly detection in AP Automation.

For AP Automation subscribers, Sage Intacct now reviews each vendor’s invoice history. It flags email addresses that don’t match the vendor record and transaction amounts that fall outside the norm. The anomaly column isn’t shown by default. To see it, add it through the column settings on the enhanced list, or create a custom view.

Finance Intelligence Agent.

Users can ask Copilot a plain-language question, such as “Who are the top five vendors by bill amount?”, and get an answer drawn from their data. The agent is free for now and still maturing. It’s best suited to teams that want to explore it early and help shape how it develops.

Marketplace agents.

Agents built and verified by Sage or its partners can now connect to Copilot for specific tasks. The list of available agents changes regularly.

Cash Intelligence.

Now in an early adopter program, Cash Intelligence can send payment reminders, track payments and reconciliation, and give a clearer picture of cash on hand. That’s an area where estimating has always been part of the job. Release 3 also improves the reconciliation experience for bank feeds and bank file imports, with added details and better visibility.

How Does Release 3 Help Protect Against Payment Fraud?

Release 3 adds several layers of control around the points where fraud most often enters a finance system: email, vendor communications, and user access.

  • Blocked senders for AP Automation. Organizations that let vendors email invoices directly into Sage Intacct can now block specific email addresses from submitting documents. This builds on the previous release, which restricted the file types most commonly associated with viruses.
  • Password confirmation for email changes. Users must now enter their password before changing an email address.
  • Annual email re-verification. Email addresses must be re-verified every 12 months to confirm the domain is still valid.
  • Approved sender and reply-to addresses. In accounts receivable and purchasing, a free-text email field has been replaced by a dropdown list of approved addresses that an administrator manages. Statements, invoices, and purchase orders go out only from official addresses.
  • General ledger outlier detection. The settings now sit in general ledger setup. There, teams can set materiality thresholds, choose which journals are monitored, and prioritize the dimensions that matter most.
  • Restricted Collaborate groups. Sage Collaborate administrators can now create groups that limit who sees what. Previously, anything posted in Collaborate was visible to everyone in the organization.

Is Sage Intacct Lending Management Available Now?

Yes. After a long development and early adopter period, the lending management module is generally available and can be added to any Sage Intacct subscription.

It’s designed for organizations that manage loans, such as Tribal governments lending to Tribal members. It includes the settings needed to calculate and track different loan agreements, and it produces invoices and statements for borrowers. Loan details that once had to be pieced together manually now live in one place, with consistency, accuracy, and a full audit trail.

Which Release 3 Updates Can You Use Right Away?

Not every improvement in Release 3 needs an early adopter program or a new subscription. These updates deliver value quickly:

  • Customer refunds that connect AR and AP. A customer refund in accounts receivable can now generate a bill that’s paid through accounts payable, and the customer’s AR balance adjusts automatically. This free feature replaces a process that used to take about five steps.
  • Bulk posting. Post up to 20 AP bills at once, and post AR invoices in bulk as well. Both require the enhanced list view.
  • Fixed asset corrections. Asset disposals can now be reversed, which returns the asset to in-service status. Summarized depreciation postings can be deleted or reversed within the fixed assets module instead of being fixed through manual journal entries.
  • A more complete roll forward report. The fixed asset roll forward report now includes all dimensions, non-financial data, and custom fields. New asset hierarchies let you nest related assets in parent-child structures for clearer reporting.
  • Multi-level journal entry approvals. Approval configuration has moved to general ledger setup. It now supports multiple approval layers and substitute approvers.
  • Faster custom reporting. The Interactive Custom Report Writer (ICRW) now caches report data. Adding a column or filter no longer reloads the entire report, which turns slow trial-and-error report building into quick adjustments.
  • A new AP payments option. The CSI payment service has been retired. AP Payments powered by MineralTree now sends ACH payments and checks on your behalf, with a full audit trail in Sage Intacct.

Several early adopter programs are also open now: automated prepaid expense amortization, purchasing approval policies with custom approval rules, Cash Intelligence, and Smart Excel Reporting. Enrollment windows close without much notice, so organizations interested in these features should raise their hand early.

How Do You Get These Features Turned On?

Some Release 3 features are already live and just need to be switched on. Others require a subscription or enrollment in an early adopter program.

REDW’s technology solutions team can walk through the pros and cons of each feature for your organization, then configure it in your environment.
