In an April 10 announcement, the IRS unveiled new tools for tax filers looking to claim their Economic Impact Payments. The first tool allows non-filers (U.S. citizens who did not file a tax return in 2018 or 2019) to fill out a simple form under “Non-filers: Enter Payment Info Here†to receive their payment.
Taxpayers who have already filed recent returns can expect automatic payments beginning next week, by mail or direct deposit. A new feature called “Get My Payment†will let you track the status of your payment, and enter or update your bank account information. Watch for this update and more information on the new tools via the IRS website.
