When the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act was signed into law, it created an important investment tool called Opportunity Zones, which offers significant federal income tax incentives for investors to provide capital to operating businesses and for real estate development. Opportunity Zones is a federal program modeled after the federal New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) program and adopts many of the same rules. For anyone interested in this type of investment tool, it is important to understand how this incentive works.
We invite you to attend a complimentary seminar to learn more about opportunity zone incentives, where you will hear from REDW’s Jarred McMahan and Snell & Wilmer attorneys Marc Schultz and Soheila Shahidi. Together, they will discuss the history of these incentives, requirements, guidance provided by the Treasury through two sets of proposed regulations, and the accounting and financial aspect of such investments.
