GASB’s New Leasing Standard Takes Effect in December 2019 – Is Your Tribe Ready?

A Series of 3 Webinars Provides Step-by-Step Guidance for Implementing GASB 87

Two years ago, the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) issued Statement No. 87, revising its lease accounting rules. These changes will have significant implications for tribal government entities that may be both a lessee and lessor for land, facilities and equipment – and the effective date of December 2019 is approaching fast.

To help you prepare to apply this new standard to the many different types of leases your Tribe handles, REDW is offering a series of three one-hour instructional webinars, complete with helpful checklists and detailed guidance, plus the opportunity to earn up to 3.0 CPE credits* – for one, all-inclusive registration fee of $150.

Details:

Dates:   July 8  |  August 12  |  September 9
Times:  11 am – 12 pm PDT
Cost:     $150 for all three webinars
CPE:      Up to 3.0 credits*

We’ll cover the specifics on:

  • All different types of leases, including: land leases; commercial property/business leases; gaming leases; housing leases; and various asset leases
  • Lease accounting for whether you are the lessee or the lessor
  • Lease accounting in both funds and Tribe-wide financial statements
  • Leases with allottees
  • Leases with component units or related parties
  • Lease impacts to debt agreements
  • Lease impacts to management or developer agreements, financial ratios and cash flows.

Each registrant may earn 1.0 CPE credit for attending each live webinar, provided the attendee answers all polling questions inserted throughout the session. All who register will also receive access to on-demand recordings of all three webinars, plus valuable resource materials. So even if you’ve missed a previous webinar, you will still be able to view it after the fact.
