SUMMARY:
Four Financial and Business Advisory professionals from REDW will share some important lessons learned on the 3 R’s—Reporting, Recruiting and Retention—that will particularly resonate with rural healthcare facilities in these COVID-impacted times.
While vital to their survival, the Provider Relief Fund (PRF) and American Rescue Plan (ARP) Rural Distribution programs went through a series of clarifications and changes that have proven to be problematic when it comes to reporting and compliance. Chris Tyhurst and Claire Hilleary from REDW’s Audit & Assurance practice will discuss common pitfalls for providers and offer considerations that will help to ensure their compliance moving forward.
Another unique challenge healthcare employers now face is in attracting and retaining top talent. While some have dubbed the past two years “The Great Resignation,” the leaders of REDW’s Human Resources Consulting practice, Cristin Heyns-Bousliman and Carol Cochran, have come to regard it rather as a “Great Negotiation.” These days, talented candidates are seeking more than a traditional employment relationship, and compensation may also require a more creative use of base, incentive, and specialty pay strategies. Cristin and Carol will share new ways Critical Access Hospitals should approach recruiting, retention and compensation in this brave new world.
