REDW and REDW Stanley Expand Tax Expertise with Three New Hires

REDW LLC, one of the Southwest’s 10 largest certified public accounting and business consulting firms, is pleased to welcome two new professionals to its Tax team in Albuquerque, and a third tax professional to its SEC-registered subsidiary, REDW Stanley Financial Advisors, LLC (REDW Stanley). Van J. Billops, CPA has joined REDW Stanley as a Tax Senior Manager; Jared C. Collins, CPA is a new Tax Senior Accountant with REDW LLC; and Jacque Armer has joined REDW as a Senior Accountant specializing in State & Local Taxes (SALT).

Van J. Billops, CPA brings a valuable combination of tax and investment expertise to REDW Stanley Financial Advisors. Since 2009, he has worked in public accounting, providing accounting, tax, audit and bookkeeping services to C- and S-corporations, partnerships, trusts and nonprofits, as well as personal financial and estate planning services to individuals. Prior to this, Van worked for various investment firms as an accountant, SEC Financial Reporting Manager and Mutual Fund Accountant. Van holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of New Mexico. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensed in New Mexico and holds a Series 65 license as a registered investment advisor. In support of his community, Van has served on the Board of Directors of South Albuquerque Cooperative Ministries (SACM), a nonprofit food pantry, and as an advisor to the New Mexico Native American Indian Nurses Association. He is also a certified foster parent.

Jared C. Collins, CPA is a skilled tax professional who specializes in partnerships, S-Corporations and flow-through entities, primarily in commercial real estate. He also interned as a Tax Examiner with the New Mexico Taxation & Revenue Department’s Tax Fraud Investigations Division. Jared holds a Master of Accounting – Advanced Accounting from the University of New Mexico’s Anderson School of Management, graduating with honors, as well as a Bachelor of Business Administration – Accounting and Finance, graduating cum laude.

The addition of Jacquelyn (“Jacqueâ€) Armer will bolster REDW’s growing State & Local Tax (SALT) practice by bringing nine years of solid SALT experience to the team earned, in part, as a Staff Tax Analyst for the Gap, Inc. and working as a Tax Auditor and Tax Examiner in the State of New Mexico’s Taxation and Revenue Department. She holds both a Masters of Business Administration in Accounting and Bachelor of Business Administration in Organizational Management from the University of New Mexico.
