REDW Promotes 33 Professionals Firm-Wide

REDW has promoted 33 professionals across multiple practice areas in its Albuquerque and Phoenix offices at the close of 2021. (This announcement does not include two new Principals of the firm, who are highlighted in a separate news release.) REDW is known as one of the Southwest’s 10 largest and fastest growing certified public accounting and business advisory firms, and is recognized for regularly acknowledging and rewarding the professional achievements of its team members.

Ernesto RamirezErnesto Ramirez, CPA, to Audit Manager. Since joining the firm in 2017, Ernesto has provided audit and consulting, agreed-upon procedures, and tax services for tribal, state and local governments, casinos, and a variety of commercial enterprises. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) with concentrations in Accounting and Finance from the University of New Mexico.

Pauline TangXiangzi (Pauline) Tang, CPA, to Audit Manager. Since joining REDW in 2015, Pauline has specialized in serving the firm’s tribal government and enterprise clients, including healthcare organizations. Bilingual in Mandarin Chinese and English, she holds a Bachelor of Accountancy from Beijing Technology and Business University and a Master of Accountancy from Arizona State University.

Ali WagnerAli Wagner, MACCT, CFE, to Internal Audit Senior Associate II. Ali has more than eight years of progressive experience in financial forensics, fraud investigations, and valuation-related services, including assisting in litigation cases pertaining to fraud, business interruption, lost profits and insurance claims. In addition to holding both a Bachelor of Business Administration and Master of Accounting from UNM’s Anderson School of Management, Ali is a Certified Fraud Examiner.

Crystal GutierrezCrystal Gutierrez to Senior Audit Associate II. Crystal has over five years of governmental and compliance audit experience, serving primarily on financial statement, single audit and agreed-upon-procedure engagements for tribal and gaming entities. She also worked more than four years handling Bank Secrecy Act compliance and reporting matters for banking institutions. Crystal holds a BBA with a concentration in Accounting from UNM’s Anderson School of Management.

Alex MercerAlexandre Mercer to Senior Audit Associate II. Since joining REDW in early 2017, Alex has specialized in performing and supervising financial statement audits and single audits for tribes, tribal gaming and other tribal enterprises. He holds a BBA from UNM’s Anderson School of Management.

Amanda WyattAmanda Wyatt, CPA to Senior Audit Associate II. Amanda has more than five years of audit experience focused on commercial and not-for-profit entities, as well as state and local governments, including Single Audits. She holds a BBA with a concentration in Accounting from UNM’s Anderson School of Management.

Ethan LoyaEthan Loya to Senior Audit Associate I. Ethan joined REDW in May 2019 after earning a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and a Certificate of Completion in Personal Financial Planning from Eastern New Mexico University. Since that time, he has served primarily on financial statement and single audit engagement teams for tribal governments and employee benefit plans.

Jody NguyenJody Nguyen to Senior Audit Associate I. Since joining the firm in early 2020, after initially serving as an Audit Intern, Jody has assisted with financial statement audits for governmental and commercial clients, performing single audits and other work related to the Office of the State Auditor. She holds an MBA and Bachelor of Business Administration, with a concentration in Accounting, from UNM’s Anderson School of Management.

Graciela RochaGraciela Rocha to Senior Audit Associate I. Since joining REDW in early 2020, Graciela has worked primarily on audit teams serving commercial and tribal government clients, and has also assisted with single audits and employee benefit plans. She holds both a Bachelor of Business Administration and Master of Accounting from UNM’s Anderson School of Business, graduating summa cum laude.

Amy BrownAmy Brown to Audit Associate II. Amy joined REDW in 2020, bringing valuable healthcare industry experience as an accountant, health benefits advisor, and surgical technician. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from Fort Lewis College and is an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation.

Bobby ColeBobby Cole to Audit Associate II. Bobby joined REDW in the Spring of 2021 after serving as an Audit Intern at various organizations and five years with cash counts, sales management and staff management at a restaurant. Bobby holds a BS in Accounting and BBA in Finance with a Minor in International Business from the University of Kentucky in Lexington.

Matthew FisherMatthew Fisher to Audit Associate II. Matthew joined REDW in early 2021 bringing five years of experience with UPS, where he was responsible for managing inter-company processes to ensure timely completion of assignments and customer satisfaction. He holds a BS in Accounting from New Mexico State University.

Haneen HasanHaneen Hasan to Audit Associate II. Haneen joined REDW in August 2020, bringing accounting and audit experience in the education field. In academia, she oversaw University project and program fund allocation, and performed data analysis and financial modeling to assess and report on project performance. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with an Advanced Certificate of Accounting from the University of Arizona’s Eller College of Management.

Minh KieuMinh Kieu to Audit Associate II. Minh joined REDW in early 2020 after graduating summa cum laude from the University of New Mexico, having earned a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting. He is a lifetime member of Beta Alpha Psi, an international honor society for accounting, finance and information systems students.

Andrew KillenAndrew Killen to Audit Associate II. Andrew joined REDW in August 2020, bringing valuable experience as an accounting administrative assistant. He holds a Bachelor of Science from Northern Arizona University, as well as Associate degrees in both Accounting and Business Administration.

Wes KliewerWes Kliewer to Audit Associate II. Wes joined REDW in June 2020 after serving as a tax intern for a local business. He has also owned and operated his own business, maintaining a consistent client base and growing its profitability by expanding services. Wes majored in Accountancy at New Mexico State University, earning both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Accounting.

Arjan LuharArjan Luhar to Audit Associate II. Arjan joined REDW in the Spring of 2021 having served as an Assurance Intern and Staff Accountant for a local Accounting organization where he performed month-end closing processes, Payroll, Accounts Payable and Receivable assignments, and participated in financial statement and tax filing preparation and audits. He holds Master of Accounting and Bachelor of Business Administration degrees from the University of Nevada.

Laura LozanoLaura Lozano to Audit Associate II. Laura joined REDW in early 2021, having served as an Audit Intern the previous year, and bringing several years of valuable customer service experience in the retail industry. She is fluent in English and Spanish and holds a BBA in Accounting from UNM’s Anderson School of Management.

Ricardo RenteriaRicardo Renteria to Audit Associate II. Ricardo joined REDW in August 2020 with experience in the hospitality and retail industries. Bilingual in English and Spanish, he earned his Bachelor of Accountancy and Bachelor of Business Administration, majoring in Finance, from New Mexico State University.

Client Advisory and Accounting Services (CAAS)

Helen BondsHelen Bonds to Outsourced Controller. Helen has 15 years of experience in public accounting, including four years working with REDW’s forensic accounting team, and is skilled at finding software solutions for developing and implementing process improvements. She holds a Bachelor of Accounting degree from National American University in Albuquerque.

Haesun ChungHaesun Chung, CPA, to Accounting Specialist Senior Manager. With more than a decade of accounting, audit, and consulting experience, Haesun works primarily with governments and nonprofit clients, including the Office of the Special Trustee for American Indians (OST). She holds a Master of Accountancy from the University of New Mexico.

Juju ParkJungyeon (“Juju”) Park to Accounting Specialist II. Since joining REDW’s Client Advisory & Accounting Services (CAAS) team in early 2017, Juju has served clients in the non-profit, commercial, and quasi-governmental sectors, processing transactions and reconciling balance sheet accounts of all kinds. Juju is currently pursuing a Master in Accounting degree at UNM’s Anderson School of Management.

Adrian GutierrezAdrian Gutierrez to Accounting Specialist I. Adrian originally joined REDW as an Audit Assistant in late 2020, with a background in tax preparation, and is now offering his combined experience to astutely serve clients of the CAAS team. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from the New Mexico State College of Business and is currently pursuing a Master of Accountancy at UNM.

Stephanie ValenciaStephanie Valencia to Supervisor I. Stephanie originally joined REDW as an Administrative Supervisor in late 2019, bringing more than 10 years of experience in professional support and organization, with four of those years being in the medical field. Having recently earned her BBA from Western Governors University, she will be applying her organizational skills to the CAAS team.

Cayla AndersonCayla Anderson, CPA, to Tax Senior Manager. Since joining REDW in early 2016 as a Tax Manager with more than a decade of experience providing tax and consulting services to physicians groups, Cayla continues to serve the firm’s healthcare clients by compiling medical financial statements and completing tax returns. She holds a Master of Taxation from Arizona State University.

Alison FurfieAlison Furfie to Tax Supervisor. Alison joined REDW in early 2017, bringing experience in non-profit accounting, accounts payable and individual tax preparation, and has since gained significant experience in business tax preparation. She holds both a Bachelor and Master of Science in Accountancy from Grand Canyon University and is currently pursuing her CPA license.

Bertha ValenciaBertha Valencia, CPA, to Tax Supervisor. With more than 10 years of experience in public accounting, Bertha is skilled at preparing tax returns for nonprofit, corporate, partnership, and individual tax clients. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Arizona State University.

Elizabeth FloydElizabeth Floydto Tax Senior Accountant. Since joining REDW in 2018 as a Tax Intern, Elizabeth has steadily risen through the ranks on the REDW Tax team. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from Arizona State University’s W.P. Carey School of Business.

Luis GironLuis A. Giron to Tax Senior Accountant. Luis joined REDW’s rapidly growing State and Local Tax (SALT) team in 2020 from the New Mexico Taxation and Revenue Department, bringing significant experience as a tax auditor who specializes in refunds, abatements, and New Mexico gross receipts tax. He holds a BBA with a dual concentration in Accounting and Finance from UNM’s Anderson School of Management.

Technology Solutions

Antonio Flores, CPA, MBA, MACC, to Senior Manager on REDW’s Software team. Antonio is a certified trainer of MIP Fund Accounting and Microix software, with a decade of experience in database management and the implementation of accounting software. He trains individuals from businesses, tribal governments and other organizations on the effective use of their business software systems, including how to improve their payroll and other processes.

Wealth Management

Ross NettlesRoss Nettles, CPA/PFS, CFP®, MBA, AIF®, to Senior Tax & Investment Manager. Since joining REDW Wealth in 2016 as an experienced investment analyst, researcher and portfolio manager, Ross has expanded his role to include Tax and Investment Management. In addition to portfolio analysis and recommendations, he prepares and verifies investment reports and assists clients and their trusts with tax planning. Ross holds a Master in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from the College of Santa Fe.

Roman SandovalRoman Sandoval to Senior Wealth Management Associate. Working in the financial services industry since 2015, Roman joined the REDW Wealth team in early 2020 to assist clients with financial plans, provide research and analysis for the firm’s investment committee, and serve as part of its compliance team. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration, with a focus in Finance, from the University of New Mexico (UNM).

Jessica SalazarJessica Salazar to Operations Associate. In 2017, Jessica joined REDW Wealth from the banking industry, bringing her valued skills as a former Operations Processor and Accounting and Loan Administration Specialist to the team. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Administration from UNM.
