June 1, 2022

June 1, 2022 — In support of the explosive demand for REDW’s Human Resources Consulting services, Cliff McNary will begin managing the firm’s full-service compensation consulting practice as Director of Compensation starting June 1, 2022. Cliff recently retired from the top compensation position in the State of New Mexico after 26 years, where he directed classification projects and compensation surveys for all state agencies and classified service employees, and acted as an internal resource for collective bargaining matters for more than 22,000 employees. He joins REDW’s twelve-member human resources consulting team, bringing key experience in the public sector government market to REDW.

“The rapid growth of our human resources consulting practice is directly attributable to the hard work and client focus of our tremendous team of human resources and compensation professionals. They possess the depth and breadth of expertise necessary to serve our clients during what some have termed the Great Resignation, although we prefer to call it the Great Renegotiation,” says Cristin Heyns-Bousliman, Esq., THRP, REDW Principal and Human Resources Consulting Practice Leader. “With us, employers are learning how to adjust their strategies to attract and retain top talent. In the past year, the complexity, number and size of our compensation projects have all been expanding at a rapid pace. It’s because of this success that we can attract strong leaders like Cliff to join our team and continue to open doors for us.”

“I’m excited to carry on the great legacy of work that REDW’s dynamic compensation team has so successfully established over the past decade,” says Cliff. “REDW has an outstanding reputation in the compensation field and I’m looking forward to bringing everything I’ve learned during my career to continue to build the firm’s Human Resources Consulting services.”

As an expert in compensation rewards design and classification study, Cliff has completed more than 650 classification studies and nine compensation structures for 65 State of New Mexico cabinet agencies and has extensive experience in Hay job evaluation methodology facilitation. During his state government career, he honed his expertise by working for the New Mexico Department of Health (NMDOH) and the New Mexico Children, Youth and Families Department (CYFD). He also ran his own consulting firm specializing in organizational development and human resources management.

Cliff holds an M.A. in Social Psychology, from the University of New Mexico. He is a Certified Conflict Resolution Mediator with Mediation Alliance and qualified for the World at Work training series on market analysis and structure development. Cliff is active in his community and has served as a volunteer and board member for Cuidando Los Niños, a nonprofit dedicated to ending child homelessness.
