REDW's New Headquarters Receives LEED® Gold Certification

REDWLLC, New Mexico’s largest locally owned certified public accounting and business consulting firm, is pleased to announce that its brand new two-story, 45,000 square-foot office building located at 7425 Jefferson St NE has received LEED® Gold Certification by the U.S. Green Building Council.

Completed in December of 2011, the new building harvests 26% of its energy from a solar photo-voltaic roof-top array, uses 46% less water, and conserves 58% more energy than a conventional office building. The project, originally designed to meet LEED Silver requirements, exceeded expectations earlier this month when Managing Principal, Ron Rivera received official notification that the project had achieved Gold.

“We are proud to demonstrate our commitment to reducing our environmental impact and we are extremely pleased to be recognized with LEED® Gold Certification for our sustainability efforts,” said Rivera. “At REDW, we strive to do the right thing. Environmental responsibility is the right thing,” he continued. “This is a remarkable achievement for us and sets the stage for what is still to come in the way of growth, innovation and leadership,” Rivera concluded.

"The New Mexico Society of CPAs salutes one of its longtime members, REDW, for receiving LEED certification,” said John Carey, President of the New Mexico Society of CPAs. “The CPA profession, which represents business, non-profit, governmental, and individual clients, strives to be a leader in sustainability, innovation, and entrepreneurship. REDW's new facility is a superb example of this commitment," continued Carey.

The Gold certificate and the building were on display at REDW’s Open House on May 23rd, where more than 200 clients, community leaders and business partners attended. Guest speakers at the open house included Albuquerque Major Richard Berry, NM CPA Society President John Carey and Titan Development Director of Development Drew Dolan. The building features a number of the latest in “green” design including automatic lighting, low-flow plumbing fixtures, low-to-no chemical emission paints, adhesives and sealants.
