Moody’s: Negative Outlook for Healthcare Sector

Moody’s Investor Service is continuing its negative outlook for the healthcare sector in a recent report. When making the determination, Moody’s took into account a number of economic factors including:

• Uncertainty about healthcare reform
• Anticipated Medicare cuts
• Weakening revenue and volume growth trends
• Median grown rate of net patient revenues, and
• Total operating revenues

Moody’s reports that the trends indicate patients are deferring care due to high unemployment rates and the sluggish economy.
