Albuquerque Museum Foundation Elects Steve Cogan President-Elect

REDWLLC, New Mexico’s largest locally owned certified public accounting and business consulting firm, is pleased to announce that the Albuquerque Museum Foundation elected Steve Cogan, Principal, as President-Elect, 2012-2013.

Steve Cogan presently serves as Secretary of the Albuquerque Museum Foundation’s Board of Directors. Steve has been a valued member of the foundation for many years, having served in various leadership roles within the organization including serving as Chair of the Foundation’s Finance Committee, and as a member of the Executive Committee, Government Action Committee, and the Investment Policy Sub-Committee. In 2010, he was recognized with the foundation’s Award of Distinction, “for his leadership, facilitation of philanthropy and community advocacy for the Foundation.”

“The Foundation Board recognizes Steve’s dedication and commitment to our community, so we are delighted that he will be Vice-President this coming year and President next year,” said Debra Romero, Executive Director of the Albuquerque Museum Foundation. “His leadership has been instrumental in our ability to help The Albuquerque Museum of Art and History to provide high quality and diverse exhibitions and educational programming,” Debra added.

“I believe very strongly in the Foundation’s mission to further cultural and educational programs of The Albuquerque Museum of Art and History, and as such, I’m grateful for the opportunity to influence the direction of the foundation’s activities,” said Cogan. “I look forward to working aside such an enthusiastic and talented group of people,” Steve continued. Cogan will assume office July 1, 2012.

As Principal in the Audit & Consulting department of REDW, Steve caters to the needs of a wide variety of clients, including tribal 638 self-determination and self-governance boards, hospitals, clinics, physician groups, and other healthcare providers, Tribal enterprises, not-for-profits, financial institutions, real estate developers, state and local governments, manufacturers, and insurance companies.

Steve is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Association of Healthcare Internal Auditors, Institute of Internal Auditors, Healthcare Financial Management Association and the National Association of Community Health Centers.
