REDW Promotes 22 Talented Professionals Firm-Wide

REDW LLC, one of the Southwest’s 10 largest certified public accounting and business consulting firms, has promoted 22 professionals across multiple practice areas in its Albuquerque, NM and Phoenix, AZ offices. REDW is well known in the industry for regularly recognizing and rewarding the professional achievements of its team members, firm-wide.

Audit & Assurance

Wesley Benally, CPA to Audit & Assurance Senior Manager in Phoenix. Wesley has more than 10 years of experience in public accounting and primarily manages audit and consulting engagements for Native American governments and enterprises. An enrolled member of the Navajo Nation, he also serves as an instructor for the Tribal Financial Managers Certificate Program through Arizona State University’s American Indian Policy Institute. Wesley holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Arizona State University.

Michael Dierlam, CPA to Senior Audit Associate II in Phoenix. A CPA and enrolled member of the Cherokee nation,  Mike is passionate about serving Native American communities. Since joining REDW in 2015, he has gained considerable experience auditing tribal governments and enterprises, including performing Single Audits under the Uniform Guidance. Mike holds both Master of Accounting & Financial Management and Bachelor of Business Administration degrees from the University of Alaska, Anchorage.

Daniela C. Moya, CPA to Senior Audit Associate II in Albuquerque. Since joining REDW in May 2016, Daniela has performed financial statement and single audits and prepared 990 tax forms for tribal governments and state and local agencies, as well as not-for-profit organizations. A CPA, she holds both Bachelor in Accounting and Master of Accountancy degrees from New Mexico State University.

Carlos Aguilera to Senior Audit Associate I in Phoenix. Since joining REDW’s Audit & Consulting team in 2015, Carlos has specialized in performing financial and single audits for tribal clients and has also provided consulting services to agricultural and healthcare corporations. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from the University of New Mexico.

Marcus Benally to Senior Audit Associate I in Phoenix. Since joining REDW in 2015, Marcus has served primarily on financial statement and single audit engagements for tribal government and gaming clients, and has also administered P.L. 93-638 (self-determination) contracts. Marcus holds a Bachelors in Accounting from New Mexico State University and an MBA from Gonzaga University. He is an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation.

Colaine Curtis to Senior Audit Associate I in Phoenix. An enrolled member of the Navajo Nation, Colaine specializes in performing financial statement and single audit engagements for tribal clients, both in private industry and tribal government. Colaine holds both a Bachelor of Accountancy and Master of Business Administration from New Mexico State University.

Steven Jaramillo to Senior Audit Associate I in Albuquerque. Since joining REDW in 2015, Steven has served primarily on financial statement and single audit engagements for public and tribal government clients, as well as tribal casino engagements. He also has three years of prior experience as a general manager for a national franchise. He holds a BBA with a concentration in Accounting from the University of New Mexico.

R. Neil Mortensen to Senior Audit Associate I in Albuquerque. Since joining REDW’s Audit & Consulting team in 2014, Neil has worked on financial statement and single audit engagements for government clients and commercial enterprises. He has also performed internal audit fieldwork for government agencies. Neil holds a Bachelors in Accounting from Southern Utah University.

Yvette Nunez to Senior Audit Associate I in Albuquerque. Since joining REDW in February 2016, Yvette has specialized in financial, compliance and internal audits for variety of state and local governments, including tribal governments and state agencies. Bilingual in English and Spanish, Yvette holds a Bachelor of Accountancy from New Mexico State University and a Master of Accounting from the University of New Mexico’s Anderson School of Management.

Steven Purwin, CPA to Senior Audit Associate I in Albuquerque. Since joining REDW in April 2015, Steven has served on both internal and external audit engagements for government agencies and commercial enterprises. A CPA, he holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of New Mexico’s Anderson School of Management.

Kristen Rodriguez, CPA to Senior Audit Associate I in Albuquerque. Since joining REDW in June 2014, Kristen has specialized in performing financial statement audits of employee benefit plans, and also provides financial statement audits for government clients and commercial enterprises. Prior to joining the firm, she worked for six years in the banking industry and as a forensics intern. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and a Master of Accounting with a concentration in Information Assurance from the University of New Mexico’s Anderson School of Management.

Justin Janssen, CPA to Audit Associate II in Phoenix. Justin has served on audit engagements primarily for tribal clients, and also gained tax preparation experience through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) grant program. A CPA in the state of Arizona, Justin holds a Bachelor of Science with a concentration in Accounting and Master of Accountancy degree from Arizona State University.

Jacob Morrison to Audit Associate II in Albuquerque. Since initially joining REDW as an Audit Intern, Jacob has continued to gain experience working on financial statement audit engagements for tribal governments and commercial clients, performing agreed-upon procedures for nonprofits, and preparing indirect cost proposals. He graduated cum laude from the University of New Mexico with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.

Cole Schnoor to Audit Associate II in Albuquerque. Since joining REDW in May 2016, bringing nine years in the aviation industry, including six years of decorated military service, Cole has gained significant experience serving on governmental and tribal audit engagements. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from the University of New Mexico.

Rebecca Stamp to Audit Associate II in Albuquerque. Since joining REDW in June 2016, Rebecca has served primarily on audit engagements for state and local governments and nonprofits. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from Colorado State University and a Master of Accountancy from New Mexico State University.

SaVonnah Osmanski to Audit Associate I in Phoenix. SaVonnah initially joined REDW as an Audit Intern, and continues to build upon those audit credentials by serving tribal entities. She holds a Bachelor of Science with a concentration in Accounting and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from Northern Arizona University, as well as a Master of Accountancy from Arizona State University.

Business Software

Antonio Flores, CPA, MBA to Manager, Business Software in Albuquerque. With more than eight years of experience in database management, nonprofit accounting software, and Abila MIP Fund Accounting implementations, Antonio trains individuals from a wide range of business and government organizations on how to use and implement accounting software systems. He also consults with clients on tax reporting and ways to improve their payroll processes. Antonio is a Certified Public Accountant and has taught business courses at the University of New Mexico’s Anderson School of Management. He holds an MBA in Finance and MACC-Master of Accounting from the University of New Mexico.

Tax

Ryan R. Hart, CPA/PFS, CFP®, AIF® to Tax Manager in Phoenix. With more than 12 years of experience in public accounting, Ryan also possesses unique expertise in tax preparation, planning and analysis that he brings to a wide range of clients, from health care professionals to closely held corporations and partnerships, contractors, individuals, estates and trusts. Ryan holds both a Bachelors in Accountancy and B.S.B.A in Business Economics from Northern Arizona University. He is a CPA in the State of Arizona, designated as a Personal Financial Specialist (PFS), as well as an Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®) and Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) Professional.

Leslie Jiron, CPA to Tax Manager in Albuquerque. Leslie joined REDW in February 2014 after working as controller for small textiles and accounting firms. She prepares tax returns for a wide variety of nonprofit, corporate, partnership, and individual clients and has expertise in a variety of bookkeeping functions. Leslie holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of New Mexico and is a licensed CPA in the State of New Mexico.

Brandon Remley, CPA to Tax Manager in Albuquerque. With approximately 15 years of experience in public accounting, Brandon provides superior tax preparation and consulting services to businesses and their owners, from partnerships and corporations, to individuals and nonprofits. He has expertise across a range of industries, including construction, real estate, retail and manufacturing. Brandon holds a Bachelor of Accountancy from New Mexico State University and is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of New Mexico.

Valuation, Forensic & Litigation Services

Jennifer Mandrick, CFE to Manager, Forensic & Litigation Services in Phoenix. With six years of public accounting experience, Jennifer currently provides forensic, investigative and litigation support services. She has significant experience in preparing complex analyses and calculations in litigation matters, assisting in the preparation of expert reports and expert testimony, and planning and executing fraud examination procedures. She also brings experience in internal audit and tax to the preparation of economic damages, fraud examinations, insurance defense, and marital dissolutions. Jennifer holds a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy with a Specialization in Internal Audit from Louisiana State University and is a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE).

Mike Pattengale, CPA, CGMA to Manager, Valuation & Forensic Services in Albuquerque. Mike brings more than 17 years of experience in commercial real estate, providing accounting, pro forma and valuation services, with particular expertise in valuation matters pertaining to ownership interests in real estate entities, such as private placement memoranda, estates, and other transfers. A CPA in the State of new Mexico and Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA), Mike holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from the University of Arizona.
